    You have to admit
    That giving an receiving kudos for the hard work many people put into their post's is very important to keeping a forum running and popular
    I am surprised with your experience running a site you haven't learned this

    There's a flip side to it.. Many use it as a popularity contest, or worse yet, drive by shootings to drive the reputation down. I give my users the option to leave it on, or turn it off. Most leave it on, but a few turn it off.

    Biker,

    This may be true, but we have already voted on this before. Different forums are different...this forum is WAY different than even some of my other forums. We have SERIOUSLY hateful people come here and drive hate and this is a great way to root them out...not perfect, but it helps. It would be SENSELESS to let people turn it off really...if that was the case, it would be better to NOT use it at all. My other forums I do NOT use it at all due to the different aspects of the forums. Here, it works...

    I'm OK with it.. Really I am.. I just hate the whole concept of the reputation thing and think vBulletin could have done much better with something different. ;)
