The Queen weather witch is keeping an eye on this storm so that I can shoo it away from southwest Missouri!
The Queen is running low .....hibernating ....I am solar powered.....I bought those special lightbulbs, Pete. The next thing I knew they had been stolen by a couple of teenagers for in their bedrooms .....they told me it was better lighting to apply their makeup!
I have been checking on this storm, waiting to see what the path was going to be as it gets closer. I have seen two different projections on the areas that will get the most. A fifty mile wobble can make all of the difference. I just got home but I will go see what I can see! ( We went to the Amish bakery today......yum.....came home with all kinds of goodies!)

This is what the Weather Channel is saying....for now...... I have also seen some forecasts that take the track of the storm a little further south. My feeling is that Belvidere is going to be right on the line ....which means watch out for ice. Another thing is going to be the wind along with this storm.
The low-pressure system is forecast to move northeastward and intensify, reaching the mid-Mississippi Valley Tuesday. Again, the track of the Winter Storm Kayla is crucial, as heavy snow should persist to the north and northwest of the low track from the central Plains into the Upper Midwest Tuesday.

Tuesday's Forecast
Later Tuesday into Wednesday, snow is expected to spread into the northern Great Lakes and Upper Mississippi Valley.
Kayla then will move swiftly to the northeast through midweek with precipitation tapering off to snow showers across parts of the Great Lakes next Wednesday night into Thursday.

Wednesday's Forecast
With the low projected to pass through the eastern Great Lakes and into Canada, mainly rain is in the forecast for the East Coast late Tuesday into next Wednesday. It is possible that some sufficiently cold air may be trapped in some valley locations of the interior Northeast to allow a bit of snow, sleet and freezing rain as precipitation first develops, but the storm track does not favor widespread accumulating snow or ice across the region.
Forecast: Boston | New York | Washington, D.C.
Impacts: How Much Snow, Wind?
At this point, parts of the central and southern Rockies, central Plains, Upper Midwest and northern Great Lakes have the greatest probability to see significant snow from this system.
However, there is still some uncertainty regarding the exact placement of the snow swath from the Rockies to the northern Great Lakes. This uncertainty is common with virtually all snowstorms a few days out.
Small adjustments of the snow swath north or south could mean significant changes in the snowfall forecasts for millions in the Midwest, including several large metro areas. The southern side of the snow swath is particularly uncertain. Some cities, including Chicago and Kansas City may see little to now snowfall at all.
For now, here is our latest snowfall outlook:
- Highest chance of at least 6 inches of snow: California's Sierra, southern Utah, Arizona's Mogollon Rim, Colorado's Plains and Rockies, Sangre de Cristos of New Mexico, western and northern Kansas, southern and eastern Nebraska, western, central, northern Iowa, southern Minnesota, most of Wisconsin except southeast corner, northern Michigan including the Upper Peninsula.
- Some cities with highest chance of at least 6 inches of snow: Flagstaff | Denver | Omaha | Des Moines | Green Bay
- Snowfall forecast more uncertain: Kansas City | Mpls./St. Paul | Milwaukee | Chicago

Potential Snowfall Through Wednesday
Lighter amounts of snow are denoted by blue colors, which purples and pink suggest heavier snow. This map may include snowfall on Friday and Saturday before the winter storm develops.
Due to the intensifying low, another story will be the potential for strong winds. Sustained winds may reach 25 to 40 mph with gusts over 50 mph, with the highest confidence of this happening over parts of eastern Colorado, western Kansas, Nebraska, western and central Iowa and southern Minnesota Tuesday into Tuesday night, perhaps lingering into Wednesday.

It's been an odd few months with a lot going on. We still have some decisions to make since Rick's mother died.
I have 2 friends in 2 different states running for political office....and once again I am the sounding board.
I was asked to write guest editorials for a national political magazine
....hahaha ....ummmm....NO.
The weather in Missouri has been freaky .....even the wildlife is confused.....The King killed a snake today
.
I have had trouble with my leg that had continued to get worse..more painful...to the point that I was having trouble with the stairs and standing for any length of time....or sitting...or anything. But, I now know what is causing it ....some long wicked name with the word Syndrome on the end of it. While surgery is an option that they always want to mention
, I did a little research and found some exercises that have been helping so far.I think they will help even more when I can do more than two repetitions at a time....since they recommend 20 reps!
One of the drivers here is out with an injury The wind caught the truck door and he fell and tore up his shoulder. He will be out for several months for surgery and rehab. That has meant some long OTR hours for the King and the other drivers at this yard.
More than anything else, it has just been dark, cloudy and dreary.....and my solar energy needs replenished! So there it is guys .....I have just been trying to lay low and hide out in the country!gntorres61, Panhandle flash and jaso37 Thank this. -
If you need some snow we still have plenty here in MD.
HometimeQueen and jaso37 Thank this.
