Wondering how Schneider Trucking is; their training, equipment, and pay? How do they treat their drivers? Appreciate any information and advice. Thanks!

Lots of good posts here search them for a wealth of info. For a mega carrier its probably not too bad and better than many. Lots of terminals so if you are true OTR thats good. Lods of regional and dedicated. Most likely average to low pay. Good equiptment they turn the trucks around often.

I payed for my own truck driving school training.24 years ago. Then I joined Schneider and their training was better than what I payed for.Never pay for your training.Join a company and stay with them for a year and they will pay for it.Schneider is a good starter company.Give them 1-2 years then move on.

Schneider has only one cdl school and that's in Gary, IN and to qualify you must live in a certain geographical area near Chicago.

What about Jim Palmer Trucking cdl school?

Talk to the recruiters, they will probably offer to pay for a local to you school and get you into a tuition reimbursement deal.

Schnieder will pay for it though dependding on the job postinng listed and applied to ,from an accredited school, one they would hire from anyway. In addition they reimburse upto 6k if paid for out of pocket. They no longer operate the in house cdl school.

I got my started in van freight, but I've been doing oversize flats for 20 years now.So when your starting out don't forget that their is more than one way to truck. Most large flatbed companies will train you and some will start you out at a higher CPM.Some people worry about the physical side of flats. Most of the time you will be hauling the same type of materials and you will get faster at chaining those loads. Its not a problem

I disagree. I spent $1800 on school and got a local job right away. Money well spent to not be away from my family for most of a year.
