Woohoo! No more "You were going 56 in a 55. I'm going to cite you." because the cop was just dying to meet his quota.
-
That law doesnt mean anything! It is still going to be done, just not as obviously. Many police forces in these tiny towns around here depend on the revenue generated from b.s. tickets. Got one town close by that has a 45 zone then goes up to a 55 zone. Cops will sit at the speed sign and point radar into the 45 zone and write tickets all day long for trucks doing 61 in a 45. Its obvious when every truck is ticketed is for 61/45. Notice I said trucks?. That road is the only route there is for trucks to get to the oil docks. These drivers are locals and travel that stretch of road on an a regular basis, they all know that the area is a speed trap, and know not to speed through the area. By the way, that ticket will cost ya $195.00

The quota isn't just on traffic violations, the blue boys are also more apt to be out at weird hours near the end of a month
-
Cops sitting at the 55 mph sign, pointed toward a 45 zone, and oh my god wrote you a ticket for 61, did I miss something here???
-
No, hunnie, you didn't miss anything. Thats what they do. Funny how the local cops can stop trucks for "speeding" and the tickets are all the same..61/45.

It has been denied for years that the Georgia State Patrol had quota's in traffic citations but friends who have retiread over the years say that's bull.
The biggest police department who are D.O.T. certified is the Dekalb County Police Department. They will pull over a truck driver while four wheeler are passing them as though they are standing still. They say it's for public saftey when in fact thier revenue base has doubled sense the Federal goverment allowed them to do inspections.
