Guys I wanted to find out if I am getting fed a line of bull. I have a 2012 Prostar. She does all right going down the road, but a friend of mine with sane year and model truck, we met up and were running together. Well I had about 35k on buddy had over 40 he literally was leaving me in the dust. My truck is set at 65. He said his was turned wide open. Judging by how he would blow by me on flats, I believe so. Anyway, he claimed, he turned his up by himself without going into a shop or finding someone in a truck parking lot. Said there was a switch accessible on the block and all internationals have it. I don't know a whole lot about diesel engines but I can see something like that on older trucks before computers. I think this fellow is yanking my chain. I know there are a lot of knowledgeable folks on here. I am not "that guy" who wants to rub it in his face that he is a liar, but am I correct, with newer trucks, you have to get someone with the proper equipment and know how to make any adjustments to speed, hp, or torque.

I have never seen a switch at all like he says. Everything I have and work on requires it to be set in the ecm with oem software, if international has a switch I have never heard or seen such a thing. I have to call BS

Well if he was running with you were you guys not stopped together at all? He could have simply showed you how. Which i use to have a pro star in fact 5 of them and they all had to be turned up with computer.
I have a distant friend who i ran into coming from colorado we stopped at fort bridger wyoming at the ta and he said he was hauling beer.. And i was hauling beer he had a 99ish fl classic and i had my volvo 780 both trucks wide open.. Well we came down the first "sisters" hill together then i started losing momentum and slowing down. Next thing you know im doing 45mph with flashers and hes gone.. I asked him wth he said his truck had a lot of power and no governor ...... Couple weeks later turns out he in fact was hauling beer.............................cans............ Long story short he was just yankin your chains too. -
Yep, just more channel 19 BS!
