Solo otr driver here. At 6 months I make 38 cents a mile. You have to stay put a minimum of 2 weeks and you get a day off for every week you're out.

    I'm OTR.

I stay out of the NE, run all the mid-west, south-east, some mid Atlantic, south-west and out to the west coast.

I have some say in where I go...........not really sure why that is.

I'm just finishing up my home-time and heading back to the truck.

My breakdown mode that I eluded to in my last post turned out to be a missed diagnosed trailer issue.

    Yes they do.

It also depends on where you are in the country at the time. I've seen the lower 48 and make runs to the west coast.

Wedge! How's it going? I'm starting with USXpress the week after my permanent CDL comes in, they won't take me to orientation with the paper temporary card because it will expire while out during training.

Hope to run into you on the road, read a lot of your posts!

    Take care and drive safe.

Good luck with your new career.

Just remember to pack everything in duffel bags, no hard luggage. And be sure to listen to your trainer.

Well, running into me was easier when I maintained daily presence here on TTR. These days I'm pretty busy
running my truck, the trip overlaps are kind of tight. Not the same as when I was running company.

But hey..........you could luck out. I'm in a white 2016 Cascadia that's reasonably dressed up with chrome and dual CB antennas.

So if you see one of those, it could be me .:biggrin_25511:

Well I'm in a red Cascadia =p it says u.s. xpress on the side of it.

I've been running pretty hard myself. I'm starting my second 34 hr reset and I'm in my second week. One required each week so far. Should be ready for my upgrade after this week.

Hey Wedge, great info and great read! Really interested in how things are running now that you are L/P Trainer. If I come to USX, that will probably be the way I come over.
