Want to see if anyone had ever added a locker to a rs 402 or upgraded to another model that would fit in the same housing of the rs 402

If you get the same number of bolts in the housing they fit. You just have to grind out a notch in the banjo to fit the locker like the old one has.

Yes that is a 2 speed, R is rear tandem, T is dual range 40 means from a 40,000 pound set and 2 is the design level meaning it is 2nd generation.

If you want a RS402 in a locker version you are looking for a RD402, the D means single reduction locking where your current rear is S for single reduction limited slip. Hope this helps.

What kind of work do you do that makes you wanna roll with 4:33's? Pretty stout set-up, but def. not the best for highway running.

That looks like a single or a rear rear to me from the pictures. No extra gear case or anything. No way its a two range rear Im thinking of. That looks like one of those half split rears you split in every gear. NOT GOOD.

    377pete Thanks this.

Did you ever find a 402 diff with a locker, or exactly what the model number is? Same boat here, 94 Pete with 402's no lockers
