Hi everyone... My names is Steve and i'm from a small town in upper PA called Wellsboro. I'm 27 years old and spend the last 7yrs in the Airforce, Security Forces. My enlistment is up and now its time to pursue my life long dream of driving trucks!!!
After finding this AWESOME website and forum , i decided to go with Driver Solutions. I filled out the online application and a couple days later received some info on the school and the companys that hire there grads. USA Truck, Averett, Decker Transport and PAM. The info was great and gives a complete break down of what each company has to offer. From pay (and pay raises) to vaction to health/dental/vision care.
After reading all the different companys info i decided to go with PAM. I called my recruter from Driver Solutions (which sometimes is hard to get a hold of, but keep trying) and got the ball rolling. In two days he called back and said PAM said yes and I was cleared to go school. Now i'm scheduled to start this monday, July 21, 2008!!!
I'll post more as my progress with Driver Solutions and PAM countine!

Where are they sending you for training? what lcation?
-
Driver Solutions uses two schools for training that i'm aware of, both in IN. One at Fort Wayne and one in Indianapolis. I think they use to have one in Arkansa but i think they closed it.
I'm going to the one in Fort Wayne -
I also have PAM as one of my favorite companies. Please keep us updated on your progress.

Thanks FT wayne wouldn't be to far for me. I was thinking about doing this too. But do you have to go at your own expense?
-
yeah you have to find your own means there. search google for "Driver Solutions" and read up on it. Most of the info is on the website. Request the info packet and it contains even more info.

thans i will.

Good luck with your training. Hope all goes well, and you will make a fine driver.
I got my start with PAM. Drove for them for two years, before going for a local job that keeps me home every night.
