my co safety adviser met with the supervisor of the officer who had fined the drivers for insecure load. the co got the fines removed from record, but the officer nor the dept would not admit to any wrong doing. it was mentioned that the officer can use discretion when making an observation. another words if your charged & don't fight it, the d.o.t. win's. my co had a written letter from the mfr of the j hooks that they are capable of being used with chains or straps & meet d.o.t. securement guidelines

    Great News!
I sincerely commend your guys for taking this fight to the finish. KUDOS!
I personally think it's a C of S that an officers "discretion" can put anyone into this situation.

    MJ1657 and Derailed Thank this.

Thanks for the update. You'll never see them admit to wrong doing when it comes to something like this but hopefully it will save someone a headache in the future. Just curious what hat they pulled that 2 year rule on the j hooks from. Probably just banking on your company not questioning it.

    MJ1657 Thanks this.
