I drive a brand new CAT dump truck for a living and I'm wanting some thoughts on a good radio to get. If you were to go the connex route would you get 3300 or 3400? Or are the others that are better. We do alot of highway and long drives. Truck has stock connections for it but Im not opposed to running my own. Thanks for your time![]()
Connex 3400HP or 3300HP?

Just for myself, I'd choose the 3400 because of the user-selectable light colors. Turns out that, of the visible light spectrum, blue lights do more harm to human night vision than the other end of the spectrum, i.e., red or orange. And the backlit panel on the 3400 will help you get to know the control layout until you can do it by Braille. Whichever you choose, assume there'll be an extra charge to have it moved to the CB freqs *and* be properly aligned to get the transmitter & receiver working optimally in the new band. I'd skip some random "tweak and peak" someplace that doesn't have "real techs" with the *RIGHT* equipment.

Thank you handlebar. Been looking at Bells cd and Clays radio shop online.

The radio is only as good as the technician that tuned it so my decision would be made depending on which technician was involved in the process.
Ougigoug Thanks this.
