Thats what i thought. So it's order permits, flags, banners and a strobe light. Not a horrible load at all.

 

I didn't think that was much of an oversize. What I was talking about were bigger loads. And heavier ones.

 

I'm very thankful that I don't chase rates on loadboards. Or ride around not knowing what any given load could/should pay.

 

I have been sitting since Last Tuesday....no reason to leave home and abuse my truck for peanuts.

I need a part time normal job though!

 

I understand your point of view.

In my opinion.. knowing what they should pay... knowing what they used to pay... and finding some who will actually pay it.... its all semantics at this point.

For me it has more to do with turning a profit vs turning away a load.

I got offered an OD load from Tennessee to Colorado that would pay $2.23/mile. It is almost 200 mile deadhead to get to the load. It will also likely be a 500 mile plus deadhead to get out of Colorado. What a deal!!!! I was also offered a load from the Tennessee/Kentucky line to Miami for $1.79/mile. That would be a 150-180 mile deadhead to get to the load.

 

Some of you guys are working, perhaps, twice as much, for half as much. At this point, that's called survivor mode. Keep it up guys!! We're almost out if the first quarter!!

 

That's a pretty decent rate these days. FL annual for 12' and under is $20. AL is under $50 for a single trip with a permit service. I'd do it right now if I was there. Of course, I'm a FL guy, so I'll go in cheaper than most as I usually get more coming out than that is paying going in. I've seen far worse stinkers recently than $3 a mile for under 12 wide. I saw some wide stuff for 1.60 the other day.
