Didn't want to start a new thread on this but nobody answered on the last I posted in. I was given a 1500W power drive. Only wires I had at the time to attempt to test were the battery clips that came with my 300W power drive. I got no lights but the inverter beeped. I am guessing the gauge wasn't big enough to power the inverter. I have some 2 AWG at the house to properly test it, but if it works, what gauge wire should I use for the smaller ground connection on the unit. I assume fit it to properly function, you want to hook it up. I seen a kit in a TA for cobra and the main wires were 2AWG while the third was 8AWG. I was going to take my 2 gauge and put the grommets on both ends and figured the industrial place I purchased them would probably have the right size wire since they are a welding shop. Does this sound good or is there anything I need to be aware of?

Personally I've always used 2/0 welding cable. Maybe a little overboard, but it always works.

Owners manual only says you only need a #8 awg for the chassis ground.
