I read all this and wonder how is it the companies fault for the CSA and wrecking trucks?
No company drives the truck for you. Every person is responsible for their own self.

Any Companies CSA score is 100% under their control. As far a wrecking, that is about 90% on the Driver. The other 10%, or more, falls on how much a Company push's their Drivers. We rolled a Truck in WV ( Winter storm) a couple weeks ago. My then DM wanted me to go and drive to that location and retrieve the cargo. Problem is, I was already shut down for 5 hrs due to the weather ( picture of my Truck is on their FB, covered in snow). People got real upset when I wouldn't move my Truck. Told them if I could have done that, I could have driven to Ky to pick up my assigned load. I do believe I was punished for that after I was able to move again? Many times a Driver will shut down due to H.O.S or weather, Dm's will always try and push the Driver to do things that shouldn't be done. I'm not just talking about CE neither.

I don't agree 100%. We as drivers need to step up and be safe on our own. No company can drive the truck for us. We are in control.
I hope everyone that was involved in the wreck was ok.
Well I must get rolling. Its getting slick so everyone be safe. -
Don't get me wrong. I never let a DM drive my Truck. One of the things I think they didn't like to much about me. Never had a problem saying "No".
Be safe out there Driver. -
What is a "freight master"?
Forgive my ignorance but this is my first time seeing this term. -
Freight Master is the person who assigns loads to Drivers. Different Companies call them different things.
-
It is their fault in part for pushing drivers and using coercion tactics like they attempted to do to my co-driver and I and they have done other drivers in the past and will continue to until the DOT shows up knocking on Russ's door.
YES drivers are 100% responsible behind that wheel and more need to know not to be afraid of bully companies but the sad thing is few actually have the guts to stand up to them. Still the fact remains....under the new CSA rules...companies have a score to hold as well as the drivers so in this regard they have a responsibility.SCar72 Thanks this. -
Freight master,travel agent,

Luke,I am your freight master.lmao

IH Truck Guy Thanks this. -
one of the biggest problems of the industry I did my self once but at the yard face to face....I don't see a problem of them taking a little out of paycheck as a deposit 500-1000 you leave the job properly with notice truck clean all damage recorded ect.. at a yard and check by someone you get it back..
