I have been taking shuttle loads there a lot lately. I think they will let you stay on property as I have seen several of our tucks shut down there lately. Also, since it is my last stop when I do deliver there, I never take an empty to the yard so that you OTR drivers will have one there. I do the same when taking Ashley loads to Nebraska Furniture Mart in the Colony. Same deal there, they will let you stay on site.

They are a very quick in and out.
I went to the Flying J after I dropped it.

    Edit:
I waited around nearly 4 hours for a pplan, but nothing. So I went in for a shower.

I dislike paying $12 for a shower, especially when said shower has no hot water.
    The manager refunded my money.

So is freight in the Dallas area really slow right now?

Walgreens in Windsor, wi. Been here now 5 hours. Lots of breakdown. Scored a nice load off Mac 30 this morning. Muscatine to Phoenix for Wednesday. Furniture. Then home request for the 22nd. This will be the most miles in a 2 week period that I have seen for months

    Not for me.
I have a load picking up tomorrow morning in Dallas, delivering 3 hours later in Fort Worth.
Live load, then drop. 45 total miles.

That's the load I turned down. They are repositioning me to Houston tonight now.

I didn't have a valid reason to turn it down, and I'm hoping something better will come along next.

    Go with the flow...
And I'm hoping the flow isn't a sinkhole.

Anything under 200 Miles should be backed up with another load.

I agree. But that seldom happens.

Even as a company driver I can control the loads I want to run, to some degree.

I delivered here at around noon, with no pplan.
It was only after 6 hours that I got this one, and I really could not say no. I had the hours, after all. At least I'll get short haul pay for it.
If I turned it down, who knows how long I would be sitting still.

Something is always better than nothing.

And, keeping a positive attitude... the load time is 1000, so I can sleep in a bit.

I'm a bit east of Rockwall, TX at a Pilot.

I ended up doing 2 local loads today, the second picking up a t-called trailer at Lancaster and delivering 30 miles away.

I had accepted a pplan that would get me out of town tomorrow, but they cancelled it when I got to the terminal to pick up that load. It was replaced with a load picking up at the place I was delivering to and delivering in MS tomorrow afternoon.

The thing that gets me is that the load was scheduled to be picked up at 1330, a live load.
My load didn't deliver until 1630, also live.
There was a note on the dispatch window that said they were 130 loads short today, so there were plenty of drivers that could have picked it up on time.
The customer wasn't very happy about it.

Still, it took less than 2 hours to unload and then load me, even having to switch docks. They were very quick, and I was the only driver there.
