Hey guys maybe this question can be seen Im satrting with this outfit small but the owner said they load a 38 ft trailer with freightliner sleeper with 26 tons of sand or gravel to be delivered in the dallas tx area is this legal tonage??

How many times are you going to ask the same question? @Cat sdp already answered you. If the truck is light enough empty, yes. I used to work at a place where the company trucks were spec'd light enough they could haul 27+ tons and still be under 80,000# gross weight. The DOT doesn't give a #### how much weight you're hauling, as long as the total load + the truck doesn't exceed the legal limit.

Do u hav any picd of ur blocking.

I use flat plate with heavy wall tubing. Line the tubes up level so you can just pin them on the rear. Straight support blocks on front. Whole lot easier than 4 bolts and nuts
BoxCarKidd Thanks this. -

Not trying to hijack this post but getting into end dump hauling ... my steer axles are rated for 16k my drives are rated for 40k and my trailer tandems are rates for 50k .... but on average how far toward should my fifth wheel placement be to distribute a few thousand more pounds on my steers ?

I have a friend who just BSed into pulling a frameless on a standard 5th wheel using wood blocks as support. He is convinced that or has told that this is totally legal. Is it.? If not where do I find the info he needs to keep from getting the business?
