I know it is called Little Cove rd on the end that cuts off 72 about 10 miles east of Huntsville.
It is called something else once you get over the hill and in the residential area. I think it was eastern bypass then Sutton rd.
It takes you to 231 or whatever that main north-south highway is below Huntsville.
WOW!!!!

No you said "you should be doing around 20 even if your jakes are working perfect."
This statement implies 20mph in either case jake working or not. This statement could get a man killed. -
I'm curious how your truck is geared. In the average OTR truck 5th gear is going to be somewhere between 15 and 20 mphLast edited: Feb 14, 2016
ChaoSS Thanks this. -
Just curious, how much of a drop is 3.5 miles at 13%? 2,700 ft or so? Seems like a lot of vertical drop for Alabama......
-
Isn't Alabama in the middle of the Rockies? No? Oh darn....
-
I'm sure if it was 13% it was only 13% for a very small portion of the hill.

2402 feet.

OP said load was goin from Valdosta to the Ham.......now what am I missing

I looked at it on Google maps. Given how it comes into US72 and connects with old US431, that little road may have been the original easement of US72 before they upgraded it.
