I was exited about re-entering the trucking industry after an 11 year hieatas to try my hand in horticulture/landscaping and took the option for a fast track back with crst.I had to start from the beginning on my cdl and with a guaranteed job what could possibly go wrong? Well , PLENTY!! First I was surprised at the very little actual training and road testing, that would let way, under experienced students on the road. My lead driver trainer was a complete Night mare, and I very quickly found out that the company or at least with my driver manager don't want to hear any complaints out of you ... PERIOD!! My co-driver had no business driving a car,let alone a semi and no matter what I tried ,he was too lazy to do any better. When your co-driver puts himself in a bind, you are right there with them, your fault or not! (of course you don't get a ticket from police/dot ) but you get wrote up for being late just the same.I was terminated and had to pay my own way home to Tennessee from California ,for something I did not do! They tell every one that I apply to that I am still under contract ,wont re-hire me and are suing me for $6500. GO somewhere else while you still can! Mark Parker (parker.mark716@gmail.com)

Plenty of info on CRST on here and mostly bad but yet people keep getting suckered to come be slaves for them.

when I was a flatbed driver my tarp pay would add up to about 150 a week on top of my 2000 miles a week and I would get a $700 dollar paycheck a week and I saved 10,000 dollars in 6 months. so try maverick or tmc or Pi and I or Falcon

Sorry that happened to you. I lease at CRST and am leaving at the end of the month. My fleet manager is a major league a-hole too. Apparently, CRST does not teach its low-level douche FMs how business works.

Based on my experience, there are other companies that will hire you even if you are under contract. Try Werner.

    1. Why did they Terminate you in California and tell you to get back to Tennessee on your own while you where still being trained? Where you involved in an Accident or was it just for failure to follow Company policy? If it was a serious Accident you may have a problem finding another Company to hire you. Try WESTERN EXPRESS in Nashville TN. It's a crummy Company but they might hire you

What happened that got you fired and stranded in California?
Yeah, CRST is not a good idea for any driver

I was in the hospital while on workmans comp. and my driver manager called me to see when I would be returning to work, , and got mad and sent to safety that I was under the influence of something while not on hometime. All I was under was what they give me for pain right there in the hospital.

    Holy cow...

Ok, now I'm scared. I had recently submitted an application to CSRT (not for serious though). It's not like I can actually take the job now as I'm still employed with my current office job but still. Had I been able to take the job, I probably would have.... This is frightening. I do not want to be stranded, sued, and not be able to be hired elsewhere over something I didn't do.

Research, research, research. So extremely important in this industry.

I was in the hospital They think they can do anything with or to your life and career because of that contract and so far they have me. I would try another company for sure . But the best advice that I can give in " HINDSIGHT" is to get a loan if possible and go to a REAL school and then you have no obligations to any company period.
