    I know it is called Little Cove rd on the end that cuts off 72 about 10 miles east of Huntsville.
    It is called something else once you get over the hill and in the residential area. I think it was eastern bypass then Sutton rd.
    It takes you to 231 or whatever that main north-south highway is below Huntsville.

    No you said "you should be doing around 20 even if your jakes are working perfect."

    This statement implies 20mph in either case jake working or not. This statement could get a man killed.

    I'm curious how your truck is geared. In the average OTR truck 5th gear is going to be somewhere between 15 and 20 mph

    Just curious, how much of a drop is 3.5 miles at 13%? 2,700 ft or so? Seems like a lot of vertical drop for Alabama......

    I'm sure if it was 13% it was only 13% for a very small portion of the hill.

    been readin this w/great amusement.....and while everyone was questioning where in Bama this was.....I know there a few backroads in the NE part of the state that'll catch ya ifn you ain't payin attention.....including one outta Huntsville....back way over towards Boaz....would be big fun on a bike lol.....not to mention the shortcut down from the topside to Rising Fawn.....but I digress....while all y'all where arguin bout grades in bama.....was I the only one wonderin....what in ##### name was he doin ANYWHERE NEAR Huntsville? OP said load was goin from Valdosta to the Ham.......now what am I missing

    I looked at it on Google maps. Given how it comes into US72 and connects with old US431, that little road may have been the original easement of US72 before they upgraded it.
