Good Day, yallz, I'm New to the forum and Just wanted to say thanks to all the posters on here. I've been browsing the forum for over a year now and it's been a great resource for me. I saved all year for CDL school and it's finally coming to fruition. I'm hoping to pass my road test next Monday, I tried once and passed the pretrip and yard tricks, but failed the road; right out of the gate.

    A bit aboot me:
I hail from queens, NY. There, as a scumbag teenager, I hopped freight trains, ran around subway tunnels and enjoyed darkroom style photography, I moved and work/partied my ayyo in New Orleans for years before I noticed the city was contributing to madness. Most recently I discovered and conquered the wilds of Lexington Kentucky, A magnificent world where family is nearby, crime is low to moderatly low, and small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri are REAL small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri. Here, I've been working and cdl schooling.

Again, thanks to the knowledgebase here

If you were driving a truck on state highways between NY and NM around 2011/12 and you got stuck behind two idiots on mopeds with pink flamingoes hanging off them, doing 27mph, sorry, but we were governed. And thanks to all the Truck Drivers who let me hitch a ride through the years.

    pattyj Thanks this.

I hope you pass too but we are not allowing any hitching this time around. You have to pull your own 40k+ tail. Lol. Take your time & see what caused you to fail so you don't repeat it. I hope the best for you.

Hah! Okay that's fine, It's my turn now.

I know what it was, I was worried about the man with the clipboard more than I was about doing my job, so instead of taking my time and moving methodically, I jumped the gun and ended up creating rolling roadlock at an intersection, to correct that I hurried through the turn and ran over the median. next time, I'm going to sit at that intersection untill nothing can legally be coming, turn carefully and most importantly, b calm. Truck schools been closed for snow, so I need to practice a lot, soon as they open in the morn.

    Thanks'

Salutations! I'm in a similar boat. Saved up enough for school but am hoping to click with a good sponsored school so the wife can use the savings to entertain herself while I'm away tryin' to make a buck. I hope to be on the Road by May, don't wanna miss my daughter's 3rd birthday this April. Hope to see you out there!
    Stay safe.

thanks ere'body, and good luck to you Charlie Mac, don't know how well it'd fly, but when you get on with a company, ask off the bat for the birthday off, might fit right between training and getting your truck, eh?

Have you submitted job applications yet? Should have started during the first week of school.
Good luck and pick a good company!
