No on the written warranty, he has always done me and alot of guys I know a good job. CAT will stand by parts, nothing else in this case. The good news is it's not using coolant so far. Front corner pass side of block is oily and all around block at bottom of head is wet, with worst spot being back pass side just in front of back corner of the block. Wet with oil trail down the side. Like he said when I talked to him oil will seep all around the top of the block so where it's wet doesn't necessarily mean that's where it's leaking. I do know that he did measure all liners and set them correctly because we talked about it at the time of rebuild. I didn't mean to suggest he doesn't know what he's doing. He's been doing it for 25 plus years and hundreds of rebuilds. He's cheaper on labor b/c he's a one man show with low overhead and no employees.
Superhauler, I hear what you're saying about a small leak. But it bothers me because it just developed, it was dry and clean for a year and a wet motor just plain drives me nuts!!
Was using between a qrt and 2 qrts a week but at the end of oil change life. Did oil change this past weekend and will monitor useage from there.
    Thanks for the input

Another thing to consider is the oil leak may be from the front cover structure or the o-ring that goes around cam in the spacerplate structure and is just migrating down the head. Dont feel bad just did an out of frame overhaul on mine. 1000 mile have one streak about 4 in long coming from between the spacerplate and block. And I redecked my block and used a new spacerplate! It is the nature of the beast!!

Don't think it's front cover, had that done two mnts after in-frame at CAT. I'm no mechanic, what is the spacer plate?
