So, having read some of the postings, and seeing that I will be a new driver who regularly works out, eats right, etc.....I'm curious as to why are there no training/fitness centers at truck stops? I will find a way to workout, it'd just be nice to not have to carry my own gym in the truck.

there used to be workout facilities scattered about different trk stops, however I think they did away with them because of lack of use. the same goes for healthy food choices on the menus. unfortunate. I carry select tech bow flex dumbells in my truck with a fold up bench. they ad a little weight to my trk but they are worth it. I also use my catwalk as a stairmaster, add in a little jogging each day with the pup and there you have it.

I too would like to see fitness centers at truck stops, but it comes down to demand. Look around you at the other truckers. How many of them seem interested in working out? Truck stops are businesses, and like all business the all mighty dollar rules. Maybe someday things will change in our favor. Until then, carry the gym in your truck.

Currently being a certified Strength & Conditioning coach who is going through a career change, staying healthy, looking healthy is important to me. I see quite a few truckers carry their own dumbbells and other workout equipment with them. If working out calls for being creative when it comes to staying in shape, thats what I will have to do. Maybe I can pull a Richard Simmons and hold workouts for truckers at truck stops.....

Well, I guess if you look good in those sparkly shorts it might motivate some drivers.
