No kidding, just looked at a old settlement sheet from June.
But really to many variables to just answer that question.
Distance
Weight

Jhuls41 Thanks this. -
I don't haul em, but a guy in town was needing help covering a load and offered like 700 bucks to go 250 miles IIRC. I turned it down. Waste too much time sitting at packing houses to make it worth it from what I've heard.Jhuls41 Thanks this.

That's a really, really cheap rate.

Just talked to a livestock hauler said their rate was 3.50 a mile plus .40 more for hauling over a certain weight. He delivered 52,000 lbs. One guy from Missoula MT said he gets 3.90 a mile from western MT to Long Prairie MN. Running at 90,000 lbs.

What would you expect from a 460 mile round trip half of that is deadhead. And loaded 46,000 lb.
-
46,000 lb of hogs that is not gross

IMHO Anything less than $4/ loaded mile is too cheap unless, it is a steady gig with other benefits like. Washouts included, shop to park and/ or work in, advanced notice on loads, etc etc
Also dead head miles to get the load and get to the next one
