After spending 3 days with company truck down and getting paid for it, O/O looks really crappy @ 1.05 per mile. This is a game plan I'm gonna sit on till a better opportunity can be made.

Smart man! I've never been a company driver, so I have nothing to compare to. The way things are right now, I wouldn't advise getting into the o/O side... yet.
Also a team should get a premium. Time sensitive loads and critical loads would be the way to go.
However if it were me, I wouldn't jump on the team idea. I'd go with a second truck and go that way. Providing your operation would allow it.

$3600 for a repair is not a big deal. You're not gonna just drive and fuel it. If it happens every month, then you got a problem.
