Hopefully I won't start a fight saying this, but it upsets me to see TA buy up all of the independents. I'm glad whites on I 81 held out after TA bought out the Union 76, But the same guy that owns the TA a few miles south also now owns what used to be whites and its branded a Petro now. I hated seeing that gator come down. The old whites is gone forever. Another one was on exit 5 on I 20 in Greenwood La. You could park the food was Ok and it was generally quiet. Another one was an independent on I-70 Exit 23 in Indiana. This one is branded Petro. I guess TA/Petro will continue to eat up the independents.

Plus it sure beats the few stops you got there in town(Vegas). However that petro by the race track wasn't bad. Got to walk over and watch some really fancy super cars race around.

Best: any Sapp Brothers location. I've heard little America is good but I've never been to one. Independent places like Jubitz in Portland, exit 96 travel plaza in Missoula (great restaurant), and any quiet little place that isn't overrun with megas and charging ripoff prices for a shower.

Worst: any place where you can't find a spot after 9 o'clock or where it's a huge hassle to get backed into a spot. Basically any Pilot that's been built recently.

I think the worst truck stop I've seen just for being a sheer clusterf is the Pilot in Channahon, IL. I'll drive the extra ten miles to go to the one in Minooka which isn't quite as bad of a clusterf.

I am surprised at how diffrent the Iowa 80 is from the other stops they own. Walcott has been fairly clean when I have been there and decent food. Not so much at the Iowa 70 outside of Kansas City, the one in Jopin on 44 been really nice when I have stopped there albeit it has been couple years for the Joplin

I made the mistake of stopping here once because I was out of hours. I found it next to impossible to park and ended up on that spare concrete pad they have on the end of the lot. The staff were rude and I'm pretty sure the young lady at the Subway would have poisoned my sandwich if given the chance.
