As long as the disposition date was at least 5-7 years old you should be fine.

As mentioned above briefly.
Violent-non violent does matter. But also NOT just when the actual charge happened.Time after disposition. Meaning after parole/probation/community service.....ETC. The co.'s insurance co. is driving these factors for risk assesment. You have a chance but it may take some time. Some co.'s will hire after3 years, others after 5 and 10 years so on and so on. Your driving record matters back minimum 3 years most all co.'s. Some require 5-7 year MVR........
The other thing that was mentioned about going to school, Was correct the school will tell you anything to get you to jooin sign loan agreement then you won't get hired.
You can try places like CRST, CrEngland, Schnieder........Even if they turn you down today you can re-apply in 6-12 months. That time might take you into the needed grace period to then be allowed to work for them. Also, keep a record of the information you give to each co. so that if you go back and apply later the information is exactly the same as before.
Good luck and keep us updated on your progress........Baack Thanks this. -
I spoke to a guy once said he didn't get hired by CREngland because his record hadn't been 15 years from the crime.
This is not factual.......just adding it in because soemone said it to me. Check things like this out for yourselves.
Good luck to all......... -
I had a felony. Auto-theft. Went to school, got hired to swift, told them they suck after 3 weeks, and moved on. 5 years later running my 2nd truck leased to Landstar. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't get a job. You can. Be honest. You might have to take a #### job for a bit just to get some more time between now and the felony but...in the end it'll be worth it. Has been for me. Trucking has been VERY good to me.
