Yea you're about as full of #### as waste treatment plant I've been ####ed witb plenty of times loaded...they love to weigh trucks as we're almost always heavy. I sat in hastings one day for 45 minutes in 100+ Temps waiting for him to hurry the hell up and weigh me so I could get the hell down the road.

Good joke plenty of packing houses in big cities and you don't just kick them off on a gravel road and expect them to walk to the packing house themselves.

Some people's children leave it to the freight haulers to talk about something they know nothing about...BTW didn't you get yourself a spread axle wilson after the problems with your legend???? How you liking the new wagon you're one of the cool ones now lol.

I pull a hopper now but had my fair share of time hooked to a cow trailer enjoyed the hell out of it but took a local gig for more home time. As cotton mouth said home time is spent in the bunk the short time you do get to the house it's spent in bed catching up on a months worth of sleep in a whopping 2 days.

D o g is right along with wore out you can train a cowboy to drive a truck as opposed to a truck driver to be a cowboy. If you don't know cows you're signing your death warrant climbing in that trailer. It takes 1 1100 pounder to kick you while you're in that trailer and you're done for. Even a little 300lb calf can kill you if you're not paying attention that being said I've pushed alot of them idiots onto a trailer.

You'd better be prepared to run too. Weather don't matter I ran through rain so hard I couldn't see past the hood, snow and ice bad enough the trailer wanted to pass the truck, and winds that would make most people pull off and wait when they're on the trailer you don't stop other than to get fuel and chk cattle.

You're expendable as well buyers don't care about how you feel all they care about is the cattle had a few drivers get hurt in okc a couple years back buyers didn't give a #### it was get the cows moved. Truth be told I had a heat stroke there in June of 14 I still ended up delivering my load. Like I said if you're not on you're death bed they expect you to run.

Be prepared to run your arse off. If that truck doesn't turn more than 4000 a week there's something wrong. And you'll also have to learn how to drive all over again. With a tank you roll over with cattle you lose pay and beef ain't cheap a 400lb calf is about $900 I'd imagine if you were a company driver kill to many and you're fired. They didn't fire me but I'd be hauling for nothing for a day or 2 to pay for what went down I've lost one never plan on losing another one.

Plan on knowing how to load a trailer. Go by weight of the cattle and weight you can put in each compartment. It's been a whIle but if I recall correctly for a spread and anything over 700 lbs it was 3000 21 21 and 10. 50ft trailer I always loaded 3000 3000 and then 22 and 22. The centers on a 40 are bigger than the centers on a spread or a tri.

The heavier the cows the easier loading as a general rule of thumb with the exception of the #### cows that have been on ddg. They're crazy as hell don't know weather they see one of you or 3 of you mean as hell and wild as hell watch you're arse when you pull from the feedlots. I've loaded plenty and had plenty of problems with them.

When you load a calf it has never been on a trailer and has no clue what to do. A cows brain is smaller than my fist they don't think very fast and it takes a while. Be patient I'm no Peta or animal rights activist but I've wanted to punch many drivers who yell and scream at an animal that don't know any better. They'll do anything you want them to eventually, it just might take a little time.

Suicide doors are slim to none now days I preferred one but you won't probably see one so well talk a little about that counter balance. Stay the hell out of its way you get one that steps on that ramp when you're trying to shut the counter balance and it'll throw it back at you...and that #### thing don't care if you're in the way and it'll throw you, or knock your teeth out, might even kill you. I bout lost my head once or twice not that a suicide door is much better they've got that name for a reason (dealer calls them a lay back ramp.)

Don't plan on loading heifers like steers what I mean by that is 56k of heifers will barely fit on a 53 and you'll be heavy on the drives because you'll run out of center and tail space they're mass volume instead of weight. I could load about 57 or 58k (no way in hell was I legal) steers and have a little wiggle room I capped heifers at 55 hauled 1 load at 56k and said never again had 6 of the #### things go down that trip and I was worried about deads when I got to wyoming. I still thank god they all walked off.

You'll eventually have downers try not to load them but it happens always know where they are in the trailer check them often I've loaded downers a few times and only lost that 1. It'll eventually happen it's like getting hurt in cow hauling not if but when.

Always make sure there's somebody there to count with you when you unload. Check your count against theirs same with the pen hands. When in doubt UNLOAD AND RELOAD CHECK YOUR COUNT never haul a load when you're in question on a count. It's your fault first and foremost. And never unload if nobody helps you count them off its a good way to lose a job. Don't think for 1 hot second a rancher won't short a buyer and blame the driver them greedy ####s do it all the time and no I don't like cattle buyers or ranchers.

That's about all I got left in my brain for tonight it's time for some whiskey and bed tonight. Any other questions feel free to ask.

Nah I think you pretty much covered it. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to go to the yard and hug one of our dry van trailers.

I do want to thank the bullracks back in 1999 that tied up the portable scales the NE DOT set up near the Colorado state line on US 34 and kept me from getting busted for being 1200 lbs over gross.

They don't make the right stuff anymore. But I can give you the "recipie" if you'd like to waste $16.99 crap they got now will wake you up but not in a good way.

I wish I had the recipie for the old formula I'd rebrand it bring it back and I'd never drive a truck again I reckon I'd make me some good money selling that stuff

Last time I "hauled" cattle I was in the jump seat of a 1975 GMC straight truck. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned sales barn food. I still remember the pies.
