I know its going to take a beating compared to a tv for the house so it needs to bea kinda tough. I'm guessing no DLP because of all those little mirrors ??? Maybe an LCD ???

My trainer had a 19" LCD, worked great, and had for at least a year. I would think you would just need to plan for the cord, 12volt or regular household plug in. You know, make sure you can use it where you want.

I use my 17" screen laptop with a WinTV-HVR hybrid TV stick (made by Hauppaugel & available at RadioShack or other electronics stores)...one end hooks up to your TV antenna coax, the other is a USB connection for your computer. It picks up both "air" and HD signals, and you won't have to invest in a DVD player (or pay more for a TV that has one built-in!).
rwings Thanks this. -
I do the same thing with the pinnacle product. Circuit city had them on sale for 49.95 this weekend. You have to have a pretty good processor for it to run well. If your laptop isn't more than a year old you are probably good to go.

my suggestion would be to go to your local big box electronics store and pay for the in-store extended warranty that way when the truck ends up shaking it to death you just take it in and go its broken fix it or give me a new one

whatever tv you decide on just be sure it is digital reciver.because in feb.2009 local channels will be sent out in digital and the older tvs will not recive the signal without a new box that you have to purchase.

I have had a lot of great reception using the Naxa TV/DVD combo that is carried at Flying Hook,TA,and most Pilots. I paid $199 for it,however, you are aware that anything you buy for your truck can be deducted from your taxes,so in my book it is well worth it. The digital tuner produces fantatastic picture quality!
