Thankyou, what brand of cb is best, and what brand, and type of power sourcefor the fridge.

Ditto on the CB. You'd be surprised how many customers use them; especially in the flatbed arena. Sirius is good too. I just got an APU that came with an inverter so I bought a fridge and microwave. I never need to get out of my truck now (except to use the bathroom). If you don't have the luxury of an inverter, I'd recommend a 12v cooler. Won't keep things super cold, but does a decent job. Oh! And get one of the 12v thermos water heaters. Maybe even a lunchbox oven.

The Cobra Classic seems to be the standard. I'd recommend getting a different antenna too. The stock antennas on trucks suck. I just bought a K40 + Series 6000W. It's overkills, yes, but it's really frustrating not being able to reach out to people.

I have always been a radio nut, but for a first radio you cannot go wrong with a cobra 29 LTD. It is a decent base model radio. They talk well and clear, but are not the best at reception. Having a good shop run an ant. set up will be good later if you like using the radio, will increase reception by quite a few miles.

I was using a colman 12v cooler, till the fan went in it. I keep forgetting to get another one. The only issue with them is space, it is a large cooler. There are smaller ones around.

Get a good 12v fan. They are great for decent nights when idling is not necessary, and help even with the AC on. Stale non moving air sux. The turbo fan on sale at TA now is not bad for the money.

I prefer XM to Sirus, but that is a personal decision. I have had both.
I have also found that I save allot of money on entertainment with my wireless internet card. I was buying several movies and books a week before I got it. Now I am down to 1 book a week.

If you don't already have one a trucking atlas is mandatory. You will be expected to know where the low clearances and kingpin settings are. Also, it is very nice to have a truck stop guide. This is very helpful in planning your days. You can figure out where you will be stopping and parking for the night in advance this way. Or if you don't like truck stops, your atlas will mark rest areas, just not the truck only parking ones.

Some will include a CB in the truck. Not that I'd accept that - it's bound to be some base-line Cobra. I've got a Galaxy dx 44V in my truck.

No fridge or cooler-but that's probably coming. Gonna install the inveter and tower computer, first. Man's gotta have his priorities.
