Ownd by a municipality. . Probably low milage too?
Buddy of mine was in the street sweeper biz and he used to hit a lot of auctions,
Disgusting how some of these municipalities were letting almost new looking low milage but older equipment be auctioned off for next to nothing, only to be replaced for a 100 to 150 thousand. Bucks.
May be old but still cool.....

I drove a yellow one for awhile back in the late '80's, single bunk, 290 Cummins w/a 13 if I recall right....Small cabs, I could just reach over and roll down the pax window...Don't recall the year, but it had the round headlights....I still have a picture of it, but I don't know how to upload it unto here....
Oxbow and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this. -
Yes it is a flat dash.... I was just impressed at how complete and original it is. Try to get a inside pic but it turned out blurry. Notice the aluminum rims on the front?? Lol, they give its age away for sure.

Ricky that owns this salvage yard told me one time, people don't build trucks like they use to. That was his answer to my question a few years ago.... Ricky, that sure is a nice matching Cab with Corvette dash, hood, and 36" sleeper, can't beleave its still here... And, as of last week it is still there to except he sold the matching sleeper. But you are correct, not a lot of "truckers" as we once knew them around that part. But keep in mind his place is way off the big road too lol. Take a lot of time and $$ but this black Pete would be a good restore project I think.rank, Blackshack46 and Oxbow Thank this.

Those old "widow maker" split rims ( they look like the old 11x20 tube type) would be the 1st thing to go.
rank, OLDSKOOLERnWV and clausland Thank this. -
I never liked them split-rims, always thought of them as a ticking time bomb, one never knew if/when it would let go...The "upgraded" locking ring was no better either!...We would always check and double check the fit, but still a bad deal for sure....I knew an old-timer once that was never quite right in the head, turns out he had one let go in his youth and it #### near killed him....Fractured his coconut, causing him to have a plate installed, nice guy, but was always a little off.....We used to wrap a heavy log chain around them, or we would drop the lift down on top of it before airing her up.....When one let go, it sounded like a bomb going off...Still, I never liked doing it, or being anywhere nearby, glad they're gone now....Thanks for the reminder, and a step back in time....

Take a pic of that pic with your cell phone. Then click "upload a file" below. Click "choose file". Click "documents". Look in "gallery" you should find your pic, click it then "post reply".

Had to edit and add the specific steps. It's easy to do just follow the steps.
