Yep.
If ya can't pay somebody $7.25 an hour then you don't need to be in business. -
I dont see how people get by on that unless they are students.
-
I am a firm believer in allowing the market to decide
Forcing a min wage, just brings us closet to socialism!!!!!
When I was young I did not like earning $3.55 per hour
But what I did like is I understood that if I worked hard and smart I could make more, and I did
Now lets talk about the lazy, min wage only protects their level of productivity -
Yeap ther is a lot of truth there seems kids today alot of them dont want to work.Alot of that being the way they were raised.
-
I'm kind of torn on this one as well. On one hand I think the market should decide and people should be paid for what they DO...on the other hand, I don't like BILLION dollar companies giving a CEO a yearly bonus of $100 million dollars while people who do the work get $2/hr...if minimum wage were not forced, etc...
IF minimum wage were not enforced I BET you these mega corporations, that shuck billions into the bank every year, would RAPE their workers...and, to me, that just seems like it goes against ALL human decency to be sure.
At the same time, it BOILS my blood to see these minimum wage workers scoff at you as soon as you walk into their business (because they just want to collect their "wage" and do nothing else.) Man, this is VERY common anymore. BUT, at the same time, I guess IF they think there is nowhere else to go but stay at the same wage...they wouldn't care so I don't know. IF they thought they could work their way up, maybe they would try, shoot, IDK. -
No the businesses will just hire Illegals so they can afford to stay in business....
-
And then someone raids you after investigating you for months and even years. Illegals can't work in this country legally, just ask the ones they let go in Postville, IA on humanitarian reasons to care for dependents. They can't work because they have no card, and can't leave because they are being detained. Those people made more than the minimum wage, but they were also willing to work. The legal people they are hiring now mostly don't stick around and the work isn't getting done there.
Very few people are willing to do the work in a packing house, no matter what they pay. -
Talk to your ol' grandpa and ask him about the days BEFORE minimum wage.
Live in a company house, go to a company church, your kids go to a company school and you are paid in company script instead of U.S. dollars. and guess where you had to spend your script? In a company store!
