There isn't one..someone paid the down payment for you is all.
Now SFI wants a warm body in there.
If you're looking for a catch after reading all these threads maybe you aren't ready.

Actually if you still on this choice program... Then it falls on you the operator's shoulders and no one else since you have essentially complete control over what you do when you do it and how like dogals said
CaptainDaveG, GoGetta07 and Dogals right foot Thank this. -
Like I've read so many times before...
This is big boy trucking...
Roll on...drvrtech77, GoGetta07 and Home_on_wheels Thank this. -
I checked with landstar and quality don't deal with them and you have to pull for the companies on their list!!!!!

Do the schneider lease trucks have speed limited? Or can I run how I want?
-
I'll state this much... the tractor setup to run the speed limit in every state but don't get caught speeding they do frown on it...
And besides the faster you go as an IC the less money you will makeHome_on_wheels, Grijon and redoctober83 Thank this. -
I totally understand that fuel mileage is everything but would also like the ability to speed up to get away from the douche bags that like to race you at 67 for ten miles. And this is the big one if I'm on an electronic log it will allow you to maximize your drive time if you can run the speed limit in all 48 states. Which can in some instances turn a 2 day run into one day. More loads=more money!!! -
More loads doesn't always= more money.. on choice you are running on percentage therefore you want to look for higher revenue per mile... If you're coming over here with the mindset that the more miles you run the more you will make that will get you in trouble... now if you find high revenue short runs those were your money makers are... Just keep in mind if you're going to keep running north of 70 miles an hour you will not make what you think you will make. Just remember this as an IC its not want you gross its what u net is what you make..Home_on_wheels, Pork Chop Express and redoctober83 Thank this.

Yep, and there is a new lease op that will be broke quickly and on here complaining how it's all lies and no one can make it as a lease op.
Driver, there are many posts on here about why maintaining a higher mpg and slowing down is better then balls to the wall to make that next load. Extra maintenance costs, more fuel, burn through tires faster, plus sfi contract had a max yearly milage you can do before they charge you more for the lease.
The difference in just fuel each year between 6mpg and 8mpg is $10,000-15,000 a year at today's average fuel price. When fuel goes up that savings goes up. Then don't forget you'll burn up the tires much faster, so a new set of the cheapest tires each year will cost you another $6,000-8,000. Now if you upgraded your tires to a more energy efficient tire then your looking at closer to $10,000 or more. Now you have increased your pm cycle because of the excess miles. I think schneider wants a pm done every 15k miles (someone correct me if I'm wrong on this) at $350 a month now since your going more miles you're looking at another $4,000-5,000 vs. the $2,000-3,000 a year for your pm's. The list goes on but just from this short list you're already increasing your yearly costs by $20,000-30,000.
I'm sure a few other lease guys will chime in on this as well, but running the speed limit well make you go broke fast.TheFriscoKid, scatruck, Grijon and 2 others Thank this. -
I like to say this much about this choice program... I have run across numerous drivers in the OCs that have expressed interest in wanting to come on today's program and every one of them have reiterated that they're going to enjoy the opportunity to be able to drive faster because they'll be all to make more money that way... This is why at least one of the reasons why so many fail when they come over to this program expressed interest in 1 day to come -0 graham and everyone a balm have a great dad enjoy the opportunity to be able to drive faster because I'm gonna make more money that way dot dot this is why endless 1 of the reasons why so many fail want to come over to this program... To be successful as an IC you have to be able to control your costs and if you can't do that you will never make it plain and simple... And that goes for your fuel which is the number one expense that you as an IC had the most control over and if you do not watch your fuel cost I don't care if you are on $4,000 a week revenue you will bring home squat because you just watched it all go out to stack through your fuel tank... You have to get into that business mentality and get rid of that company driver mentality or it's over before it starts... I figure I would chime in since I've been seeing a lot of this lately and had to say something in regards to this... I don't discourage anyone from wanting to take the next step up to become a business owner but you got to be responsible to do it and that's all I'm saying here...
