Sorry, you just shown your inexperience. Glad you still had control of the truck. At 13% grade loaded, Im creeping down that hill. I dont know why drivers depend on jakes. Had that grade been slippery, the jakes would be the last thing you needed

I would like to know what gear you were in going down? No matter if your engine brake works or not you still need good brakes and to be in the proper gear

So, im pertfied of a 13er I gotta go down 80'd out....Riding brakes=all my tires holding me from sudden death, or engine break with 2 super singles holding it all back...right? what?

In a new automatic in manual mode I was engine breakin, rollin up to 30mph, then braking down to 25, which was 5 seconds of 25 pounds, then 10 seconds to roll up to 30 again....
Then this other dood, same rig, went down in 5th with the engine break on middle setting never touched the brake....so, i dont know now...I like slower, seatbelt off, hand on door, backup underware handy and at the ready in case I blast grocceries into my shorts...

    Bob Dobalina Thanks this.
