Mercer I would have to buy a truck which I have no desire to do. Jones sounds good but they use quality and they seem to shady and then there's schneider choice. Am I missing anyone that let's you work off a load board and book your own freight?

Why bother with a lease if you're as successful as you say?
Not knocking your choice on a FL Cascadia..but you realize they are company spec'd don't you?

Lease is better for me for purposes. And the truck doesn't matter if I can get what I need out of it. I would drive an old mack if I make the monew I want. I need to net 120k a year for three more years and I'm completely retired. That will get me a few more rentals and 2 more stores. And at the ripe old age of 51 I'll be sitting on my porch yelling at the neighborhood kids to get out of my yard!

I'm gonna leave this here soon can save it and read later....I do have a quick question before my 30 min break is over. Simply put, is it possible to make 70k running from north Carolina a year after fixed cost fuel and before taxes. Curious cause I'm a company driver and seriously thinking about making a switch.

You could lease a truck from Lone Mountain for not much money either and have about 1300 a month less in monthly payments.

You could net 70 k a year before taxes but you can't run just the south and probably need to stay out 2 weeks at a time.

Thing is you have to run where you don't want to as a company driver to make the most as an IC.
