Why, as taxpayers, do the rest of us have to support our competition?

    From the article-

"The port's environmental department will oversee the program, ensuring the application process for replacements and upgrades is fair and transparent, a spokesman for the port said in a news release."

    Yeah.

Some of those programs are great. If you are interested in upgrading your truck they are worth getting in on. They were running one in the Bronx a few years ago and the guys that I knew who participated were very happy. They saved lots of money on a new trucks. As one guy put it, "I'm paying for it anyway. I might as well take advantage of it"

Can someone give me the name in Government who is pushing all the clean air environmental bullcrap?? We're up to our balls with this. If the program requires investment on the part of the owner, meaning, the upgrade requires you to pay for a newer truck, doesn't that mean that whomever doesn't want to buy newer might then get denied from working if they don't meet future new regulations? It's a setup. That's what it is.

The California Air Resources Board. The mega carriers and the teamsters union. CARB thinks make a difference. The mega carriers want to eliminate the competition and the union wants to organize the big companies. The truck manufacturers love it too. They contribute to the politicians who give your tax dollars to the regulating agencies. Welcome to America
