Up, just kind of a early life lesson; people are not always who they portray themselves to be. Some just use religion to hide behind.

One of my neighbors is a mormon bishop. Best neighbors (whole family) I ever had. However, I also think of all the devout mormons that own trucking companies that also make a habit of screwing over drivers. Some live it some hide behind it.

 

I totally agree.had a neighbor that I thought was religious least his wife and two daughters were but he was a peeping Tom.he use to call me and make dirty calls.after finding out who it was I called him every sick name I could think of.then a pasted for the church I attended for yrs lead a double life and no-one knew it.his family found out.

 

A true Christian will not go around announcing and blowing trumpets that he/she is a Christian unless you ask them or feel the power of the Holy Spirit radiating off them
... God would rather have his children pray in a closet where everything they say or do is just between him and his babies

I've had the opposite experience in life. From my college professors to dealing with different kinds of people at our family car dealership. Not to get too into it, but people that answer to nothing usually don't care about late payments, not paying, or being really rude. My best and most understanding college professors were people of faith. And really, if it weren't for Christian philanthropy, millions and millions would starve. I don't see non belief organizations ( centered around non beliefs) doing that.

And this is an excellent point. If youre dealing with someone who (as the above poster said) lies, cheats, won't pay, and is rude, chances are they aren't really a true Christian. Anyone can say they are, and anyone can start a small church pretending to be a man of God to dip in the finances. It doesn't mean they really are what they appear to be.

When you see it in action, you'll know it.

 

As to the company and driving, are they regional / OTR only? Do they get OTR drivers home on weekends? Do they hire inexperienced drivers?
