Hello everyone. I have been reading the forums for some time now and am in the market for a CB. I have owned cobra 25 and 29s before. I am looking for something $100 or less for the radio. It will be in my pickup and will be used occasionally. I would like weather channels and possible swr calibration. I'm thinking cobra 25, 29, or the 18wx. Please let me know what you think! Thanks!

For $100 or less best bet would be eBay (gamble on condition) or go to CB shop and buy used.

Wilco hess and flying j/pilot have bearcat 880 on sale for $99.i bought one with pilot points and unlike the earlier versions, the new ones have the 520 mosfet final and there is a amc pot to adjust modulation and it is not tiny like the one on the 980, it is the same size as the vr4 pot on the cobra 29. If you do choose the 880 and plan on using stock mic, open it up and remove adhesive piece that covers the mic element.

I have decided between the cobra 29ltd chrome or cobra 29ltd Bluetooth. The Bluetooth is a slight cheaper but I'm not sold on one or the other. Which one do you guys think?

I know where there is a really ugly Uniden PC78?....I can never remember but it is the 29 equivalent. It has been all checked out,by one of the best technicians out there as well as peaked and tuned w/talkback and works as good as new, but the chrome face plate is fubared and the covers could stand a little paint. BUT, it functions perfectly. I like them like that because they are less apt to be stolen if they're ugly and nobody can see them that you talk to anyway. It could be shipped to you at less than $100. (I'll have to check to make sure I can still get it. If you are interested I'll send you pic or two.)

Do not even consider a Cobra model 18. It is known as one of the worst radios ever made. Research it on the internet and see for yourself.

I still wish Cobra would have made a NightWatch version of the 29 chrome. Oh well.

You might want to take a look at the Cobra 29WXNWST.
