@wolf98 Did you go with Transport America? Let us know how it works out for you. Hopefully you researched it thoroughly and decided that was the best Avenue for YOURSELF. Remember, look out for number one, have fun, and make money. Best of luck to you.

A Driver CAN learn from a LP experience, but he or she should not postulate themselves as an owner operator and I think LP operators know that. Nothing should keep someone from learning how to keep records and learn how to operate a truck while someone else (the carrier) takes all the risk, hence the "no money down" required to enter a LP deal. The carrier isn't asking you to assume any risk because the carrier knows they control how much $$ you will earn, etc, while they carry the risk. Nothing is hidden in many LP deals. Drivers who engage in LP deals should feel lucky a carrier allows you to see their numbers and play a role in learning how to operate a truck. If the LP deal is a walk away lease, and since you don't OWN anything, nor have any ownership interest in the equipment, you can walk away from the deal after learning how to run while occasionally making a little money here and there, then why not run the lease truck? Make a little cake and learn how to operate a truck, perfect for those limited on experience.
MachoCyclone and Jonkie Thank this. -
No I didn't. Too many drivers have issues with T.A. Lease purchase. One of them is current stuck in cedar rapids with a brand new engine but and completed the lease but t.a refusing to allow them to get the title to the truck until they replace their "new engine". T.a. Stated the engine had blown head gaskets and bad carburetor. My friend just dropped 50k on a brand new engine 2 weeks ago due to something knocking while driving. He was down for 4days waiting on the repairs.Pintlehook Thanks this.
