Look at the rear of the old trailer you were pulling to see if the rear was open or is your new trailer closed off at rear? I pulled my old flat that was open so you can look all the way inside the frame rails to the ft. of it from the rear, only mud flaps on lower half of tires, Some new flats from them the rear of trailers are closed off and make a wind dam at speed?

no just mentioning that on my other trailer it had the type of adjustment where you pull the button out, hold it out while you back off the brakes. the way I was taught was to tighten all the way snug, then pull button out & back off 1/2 to 3/4 a turn,johndeere4020 Thanks this.

Riprap why does it look like the ratchet has a male 5/16 sticking out instead of just a 5/16" square opening? Or am I just seeing it wrong. Did you buy these? I live just about 50 miles from you. Where did you get them? The ken tool sites shows Fleet pride on Janes ave in Saginaw sells ken tools.
Thanks Mike -
We would have got them from there (fleet pride) or 2 miles away at Michigan truck spring on Wolf road.
I think they actually are an 8 point and they are made specifically for the square heads Edit to add: it has no male end sticking out, it's open on both sides so you can flip ratchet over and use either side9200 IH Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info Riprap. I am going to get that set. A screw driver and a open end wrench works ok but I think these will be allot better.
Thanks again

My 06 Big Bubba already had a lift axle when I bought it. Sure is nice rolling through the tolls with it up when you don't need it. Never really kept track of how much I saved but if you run a lot of toll roads im sure it will pay off quick in tolls and wear and tear. Just sayin
johndeere4020 Thanks this. -
I put a lift axle kit on my 99 Big Bubba. Had a small partial load going up over the big mac bridge and was able to leave axle up going across bridge, delivered the load, back over the bridge in about a half hour with lift axle up, $10 saved in about 1 hour.
