I had a paper load from far south of AL that was barely legal for my Colombia glider with only half a tank of fuel 75 gal) that was relayed to atl yard. The driver that got the relay couldn't take the load cause his truck was heavier than mine. Long story short after proving to my dbl it was legal for me that its not my fault. Also the load was going to Wisc. That may take part in it as well.

Well, looks like choice is going to grow some more. Talked to an IC on Target Dedicated. He was informed that he has to go to choice or find another job. Just wonder if all the IC's on bulk will have to do the same thing??
-
Heard the same thing for target ICs. Was told the last day on target account is 31st of march.
Home_on_wheels Thanks this. -
All dedicated ICs are going to Choice or leaving. We were given our "walking orders" as it were a few days ago.

Any and All mileage based IC's are being moved onto choice or being let go.
Company is moving away from mileage based to further distance itself from appearing as IC drivers are no different than Company.
I was told because company drivers are paid by the mile they're doing away with IC mileage. Don't want the appearance of IC's being the same as a company driver.
Funny thing is other than pay or how we are dispatched we're just like a company driver, we have to do Everything a company driver does as far as quarterly and yearly training. Same policies even down to rider policy even though we Pay all the bills on our end.
I want my benefits and W-2 if I'm going to be treated as a company driver.jonargal, CaptainDaveG, 91B20H8 and 2 others Thank this. -

They should get rid of all those mileage programs.
Tanker looks to be the last one.
I'd rather be a company driver for CR England than pull a tanker around as an IC with a dispatcher and the cheap mileage pay.scythe08 Thanks this. -
Both do quarterly training,
Both do yearly road test,
Both are restricted to whom can ride in the truck and the restrictions are the exact same.
Both are required to do DVIR per company policy even though DOT did away with the Mandate.
Both are required to do trailer moves assigned to them by a company box planner. An IC can sometimes get out of the move but only after jumping thru SNI hoops.
I have to tell SNI when and how long I'm going home for company does have to ask.
If you think there's a significant difference between the 2 then good for you but my opinion is there's not much which is why SNI is making the changes but then again I haven't been with SNI as long as most of you on here.scythe08 Thanks this. -
Pet policy.
Inverter policy.
Home time policy.
Rider policy is not "exactly" the same.
Company drivers can't dispatch themselves.
Idle policy.
I got more, those are just off the top of my head without even thinking hard. -
Most of your policy comparison involve their company truck I am referring to driver requirements.
But I'll agree to disagree.
