YW man.. EPU's are okay, if they have an auto-restart. Not sure how many do and/or don't. I'm not OTR anymore, but when I was, the boss-man's PB's had APU'S. NICE.
Good luck in your endeavors, Patrick; be safe, Driver!

Why are you using your GI Bill when Roehl pays for the training?
-
@Charlie Mac yes roehl pays, but using the gi Bill as an apprenticeship pays you an additional amount. Just like the money you receive from it if you were in college. For example if I were to go to college here in Reno, I would get the tuition paid for, as well as receive 1200 per month to live off of. The paid apprenticeship is similar, so would receive the money from roehl, in addition to 1200 a month for 2 years. The va benefits website has information on what trucking companies are allowed the apprenticeships. Check it out
Charlie Mac Thanks this. -
I drive for Roehl.
I am signed up for G.I. Bill but paperwork issues has me still waiting for my money. Figure I will be back dated 3 months so should be a fat check.
I have a '16 prostar auto. It has epu with autostart. The auto start wakes me up every time. It beeps before it starts and then the whole truck shakes when the engine turns over.
Personally I like Roehl and get good miles. I figure 4-5 years and then I will go local. I wanna buy a farm so being over the road won't work once I make that investment. -
^^^ I drove OTR for Fedex/Linehaul back in the day, before they were FedWrecks... saved up enough to BUY my family's farm. Driving regional/local now, and all is paid except the neverending taxes! It's do-able, man. Good to have your sights on, and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

Drivers who show a pattern of unsafe driving are awarded a camera. Should you be so lucky, the inward facing camera is only focused on the driver seat, nobody is watching a live feed of you working 24/7 as some may think. Here's how it works: the camera is on a overwriting loop of about 20 seconds, when the camera recognizes a triggering event, such as texting while driving, using your truckpc while driving, running a stop sign, or having an accident, that 10-30 seconds of footage is saved and sent to your FM for review. Again this is only after so many incidents where you damage equipment or receive citations for unsafe driving behavior.firemedic2816 Thanks this.

good info, Ghost!
Nate, hope all is well.Nate_K and 2T151-Ghost Thank this. -
The camera itself cannot recognize a person texting, it can only recognize G-sensor action. I have both driven with the camera and trained on the desktop review platform.

Doesn't Roehl have that stupid new driver contract? The one that makes you pay them if you leave before some date. That is reason enough to look elsewhere.

What is starting mileage pay and how quickly does it go up?
