There are honest companies out there that you can lease purchase a tractor and end up with clear title in your name. You OWN it! I did it twice. I owned the black Century in my avatar picture. When I retired, I sold it. The check was written out to me only. Before the black one I had the same truck in white. I had clear title in my name on that one as well. I was given the choice of a 379 EXHD or a standard hood before I chose the black Century. I pulled mostly dry vans and a refer now and then. The Century is better for getting to tight places and way better on fuel mpg. When working by the mile, mpg is very important.

Are you going to share the company name you got two trucks through ?

MayTrucking, Brooks Oregon. I didn't say it was easy. I am saying I never had any doubt that I would complete my lease and own my tractor(s). I would still be there hauling for May if I had not developed severe night blindness. An efficient owner operator is valuable to May Trkg. The owner operator dept manager Cathy Williams will call the operations dept on your behalf if needed. She will also give sound business advice if you ask her. If you remember when fuel was $5+ per gallon, It was not a problem because of the fuel surcharge which is calculated every week based on the national average. The one thing I did not like was Rand McNally mileage.

What exactly is night blindness? Can you describe it? I drive almost exclusively at night but I've noticed a few time in the past year that my eyes don't seem to...well...focus well at night. Nothing long term but has me worried.

I have trouble seeing at night. A raining night is worse yet. Two Opthalmologist's checked my vision and diagnosed my condition as severe. But there is no measurement or point specified by law as too blind to drive at night. After scaring myself with close calls I knew I had to give up driving at night. I was not willing to go on until I crashed and injure myself or worse by harming some innocent person or people.
I paid off my black century, turned 62 and chose to retire in 2009. I got my Class A in 1970. I worked in trucking until I retired.
Go to an Opthalmologist and get your eyes checked. I doubt an optometrist can perform the test accurately.

Thank you for your posts I myself have trouble driving at night and add the rain at night I have some issues. I just thought it was my glasses needing replaced but may have to check into this. Again thank you. I DO NOT want to hurt anyone or possibly worse.
