Started out company. We came somewhat close to a full year driving company.Redtwin Thanks this.
-
Of the three you stated, May is probably your best choice, know a driver there and he is happy with them..plenty of miles
Rocknroller4 Thanks this. -
I agree May, is the least offensive of the bunch. They are known to be fussy as hell and nothing special about miles
Both those companies have had their moments of fussiness.
That is fair. Just hard to believe someone is interested enough to compare those three.
O.K. Taking China's thing. These companies have terminals in the NW and have recently hired newbies although they might not at this time; this a bad time of the year to get on any fleet. They all spam job-source and craigslist several times a day in the NW. Something to start with. I would go from the top down in my search but I not fond of any of them but all better than your choices.
Gardner
Systems/TWT/JJ
Interstate
Gordon
Andrus
Navajo
Knight
KKW
Swift
Carolina CargoRocknroller4 Thanks this. -
At least it was not swift or you would be dead hahahah

I would try Gordon or maybe Watkins & Shepard in Missoula. They will take anybody with a valid class A if you pass their orientation. Might be in over your head though on that one if your only experience has been driving school 9 months ago. They expect you to know what you're doing well enough to go solo right away.

Gordon won't take me without 3 months. Watkins wouldn't because I have gaps in my employment. For someone with a clear record, sure is tough to get a good trucking job.
I had chances with Knight but hear their politics are dreadful. No thanks. -
What have you heard about politics?. I am interested in Knight, they wouldn't be my first choice, but I haven't heard anything bad enough (yet!) to keep me away.

I dont know how many kids were actually in involved or how much of this is BS. The way my trainer explained it was that the father took a vacation. When he came back he found that the kids had decided they would each dear old dad a heck of a present. The present was each kid had absconded some of Dad's money to create a trucking company. I know knight was one of the three ventures. The excrement hit the fan and dear old Dad was less than happy with the kids that "threw away capital". The kids were out on their own now. So dont be surprised if some companies seemed to be alot like the habits of CR England.
just my 2 pennies.
I wasnt dissatisfied with the company. Just seemed like I had my share of the not so good trainers. Supposedly CR England will treat its driver better if they are married. I have no proof of that claim. -
I'm assuming your saying CRE treats married teams better, am I right? They treated me and my ex fairly well. We didn't have a problem getting good miles and good loads. I mean as far as running our butts off spending countless hours behind the wheel for upwards of two months at a time, we faired pretty good. We just decided to get out of our three year lease about two and a half years into it because we were tired of being on the road all the time. Besides, we had plenty of experience to move on to bigger and better opportunities.lovesthedrive Thanks this.
