Move to CA and become a fireman there, they make close to 200k a year with a full pension and they don't do crap. Their union has it in a clause where an engine company has to roll out for an emt call so they can show they're not completely useless.
Try staffing agencies, they always advertise for temp, part time drivers

That temp agency is a good tip as you can choose what days you work. Years ago I moonlighted with a local office relocation place part time they were like a staffing place that I signed up for except I called them a few days ahead of time and they put me on the schedule vs requesting a driver via the temp agency

My first job I got with a OTR company I was still in the Navy. Back in the 1970's the government thought they would save money if they went to a 4 day work week with 3 days off. So we had every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. I got hired on with Sav-A-Stop out of Jacksonville Fl. on their casual board. It was kind of tough getting on because I had to become Ryder certified so I could drive their lease equipment. Once I passed all their testing including a lie detector I was farmed out to Sav-A-Stop. They like the idea of me running on weekends but the job was team and I always got a different driver each weekend for a long time. They didn't have to pay any benefits to me so I made more than the other drivers. It was only 2¢ a mile more up to a huge pay as 12½¢. So it can be done.
Where you might have problems is only having 48 hours to do your driving. I had an agreement in writing that the company would do everything in their power to have me back Monday morning. And in 3 years I had no problems. You just have to ask if you can drive on their casual board if they have one. This is the time to go door to door to find the company that is willing to work with you. You'll have to have all your paperwork done as for CDL, Medical, and such. They don't want to invest any money into you without a return. Good luck.Jmerch Thanks this. -
