Oh, we have secret cameras, Mr Kraut! Just kidding.

Greater Omaha Express does not have cameras and doesn't have plans on adding any.

Unfortunately the recruiter of Greater Omaha Express, Jerrod (TheJrodTest) was banned from TTR and his great thread in the Trucking Jobs forum was deleted. So are deleted all the posts (mine too :() and a lot of very helpful information is lost.

    @Admins
Was that really necessary without a first warning?

I found my job with Greater Omaha Express thru TTR and I'm now with them for about 3.5 months. They have pros and cons like every other company but I'm pretty glad I'm working here. The people are great to work with and you're a name, not a number.
I'm usually out for about three weeks and home between 4 and 6 days.
Had a bit a slow start with miles but has improved meanwhile (it always could be more ;)).
Since I started on Nov 11, I made 35647 miles and I was home for 4- 6 days in a month.

Here's a picture of my truck parked in my yard at home

I'm not as good with words as the Greater Omaha Express office staff is. They've done a really good job of telling people how innocent they are and making it sound like we're trying to hurt them. But the simple facts are that they repeatedly violated the No Advertising rule, received warnings, and were eventually banned. I reviewed the decisions that lead to the ban and found even more clear cut advertising they were doing behind the scenes.

I think it's great you found a job you like, and I'm sorry that you and several other members lost posts that you put time and effort into. The TruckersReport community didn't grow to its current size by making a habit of removing threads with useful information, and it's not a decision taken lightly.

I'm sorry to hear that. Haven't seen any advertising, but I'm not checking the forums 24/7.
It's your forum and your rules so I have to accept your answer.
I hope I can write here about my experience with the company and answer questions of other drivers and it will not be seen as advertising ;)

Helping fellow drivers by talking about your experience and answering their questions is what we're all about, and I hope you'll continue to do that.

The problem comes when recruiters drop into threads that aren't about their company and start soliciting drivers (sometimes subtly, sometimes not-so-subtly). Based on years and years of experience maintaining the forum, the moderators have seen it's very rare for drivers to engage in that sort of behavior regardless of how much they like their company. The obvious exception is when drivers are trying to get credit for referrals, or the office staff have found a way to influence their drivers into acting on the company's behalf.

Talking about your experience, answering questions = great
Acting like a recruiter = bad

Had one drop and one pickup today. Made 660 miles with about 60 miles of country roads.
Stopped for the night 7 miles from my drop tomorrow with 3 minutes left on my 11 and 20 minutes left on my 14. Great day :)
Since I left home on Monday 02/15 I made 6803 miles and one reset. My next load is planned to bring me home, will see what I get.

Are you still at GO Express? If so, how are things going for you.

    Sure, still there!
Came home this morning for a few days off. Had to wait a day on the yard to get my load home. Was offered a load between, but would have been a problem with running out of hours to get home, so I waited for my load to AZ and CA. Made another short load in CA (seemed to be an important/urgent load) and after that went home empty.
    Made 9160 miles since I left home on 02/15 in 22.5 days, I don't complain ;)
I know that other guys make more miles in this time period, but when I see my paycheck, I'm always glad that I only pay 44 bucks a week for a good health insurance for me and my wife, at other companies you have to run a lot of miles more to get the same money per week

    rocknroll81 and carramrod32 Thank this.

Still at home waiting for a load. Enjoying the extra days off with my wife and the dogs in sunny and warm weather :)
On my last trip I noticed the tire inflating system of the trailer working for a few minutes in the morning after I started the truck. I knew that I had a slow leak at a trailer tire, but couldn't locate the tire.
This changed after two days at home without running the truck. I had a flat! Noticed a bolt in the tire, called the company and about two hours later the tire service worked on the tire in my yard at home. Fortunately it was an outer tire so he could fix it without taking the rim off. Beside the bolt he found another nail in the tire. Nice thing to get this done at home while sipping a coffee and talking to the tire guy.
This was the second time that I needed the tire service, the last time I had a slow leak on a steer tire and got it replaced in Las Vegas on the way from Cali to Colorado. After checking in at the TA in Las Vegas, they told me it could take "a couple of hours" till they can work on my truck
One phone call to our shop and a road service arrived short time later and replaced the steer tire (had to pull out of the TA, they don't like other companies work on their yard).
Lost only about 1.5 hours instead of probably 5 hours at the TA.
I like it that I can call the maintenance guy at any time of the day and night and get help as fast as possible, not dealing with a bunch of incompetent people as it often happens at bigger companies.
