Well if you have deep pockets and want to buy new my suggestion is the C-18 millitary truck manifold. Part #'s are 101-7354 for the center section and 102-8606 for the two ends.
These flow a little better then the B model, but are $$$. Get some wires on the motor too, fuel temp wire and boost wire for response. If you have not then set the injector trim codes to 5232, these are good for 50hp. Also the fuel temp wire is good for another 50hp.
Now you can try these 6969, these trim codes are supposed to be good for 20 hp over the 5232, so 70hp gain. Its been proven by Antrims diesel on the dyno, but i have not tried it yet myself. -
Thanks,I will try the 5232 codes not so much for hp at the moment it ldles a bit rough this might make it smoother.I found a B manifold so I will put that on as soon as I can, should I change those inserts on the manifold gaskets?? I have had problems with them before getting to hot and breaking off going through the turbo but CAT have assure me they have fixed that problem
-
Yes i will give ya a list of things,
The exhaust sleeves that go inside the head..part #194-8124..6 required
Gaskets.......... #129-9452......6 required
and the short stud that you will have to put on cylinder 3
short stud......... #4S-6137.....1 required -
It will idle rough with the injectors you have, all that fuel ya got going to the motor

These codes wont make it any better but add power. -
Thanks,I will get on to that, one other thing when I change gear I get black smoke{looks good} then burns clean obviously a bit of turbo lag BUT if the turbo was too small wouldnt it smoke under full load at 1800rpm not keeping up with the injectors??
All you get is a heat haze. -
Hmmm, not nessecerily. Can you get the injector part # for me. If these are 10R-0959's then it will smoke pretty good. I flow so much air for the fuel and it still smokes a lot.
Id like to know what injectors he sold ya, he could got you the 10R-0958's which are smaller. But if you dont push enough air for the fuel it wont smoke heavily, just slight black smoke. Once you build serious power it will smoke no matter what you do. Get the B model manifold on, if that doesent get you within a safe EGT range then im sure you are out of air flow, but im sure the manifold will solve your EGT problem if you got enough turbo.
This is how mine smokes. http://s100.photobucket.com/albums/m39/billkw/?action=view¤t=kwaxle011.flv
A guy i know, its a old freighshaker with a C-15 550 putting down 928hp on CAT parts and i think he did 1100hp with a pittburgh box on top of the injectors. -
I like that truck allot.
-
I did right down all the numbers on the injectors:08C6B69 or 2815610 not sure which one is the part number.
-
LOL,WOW I thought mine smoked I got nothing on that!!!!
