If you have an older (much older) phone not capable of LTE then you would never see 4G on Verizon anyway. You would never see more than 3G. 4G and LTE are different signals incompatable with each other. When Verizon switched to LTE (Over 2 yrs ago) they dropped 4g coverage.. all phones that could not do LTE would revert to 3G. Many older phones could do LTE with a software upgrade.

LTE has been out for over 2 yrs. Anyone who does not have a compatable phone by now has no excuse to complain about bad service.

We all have house payments. We have to live somewhere.

Try 2 mortages plus all the amenities for both homes, nursing care, living assistance care, more different insurance premiums than I can even name off, Sally Mae loans, credit card debt.. cell phone bill is laugable compared to many other bills I pay each month.

I agree.. dont buy what you can not afford or dont want to pay for.

    LOL

Thats exactly how I feel sometimes.

Currently ahead financially.. so no real juggling or prioritizing which bills get paid first. I have been there a few times. I hate getting stressed out over bills.

Now my wife and I just guve each other friendly reminders as to which week of the month it is. We have all of our bills set up to be paid either 1st week or 2nd week. Then 2 weeks of not worrying about it. She handles most of the 1st week bills and some of the second week. I do the remainder of the 2nd week.

Besides those bills.. I have a pretty useless daughter with an even more useless older boyfriend who neither have much to contribute to society other than sucking air in and out.

Soon as I have one thing paid off.. something else takes its place. Feels like it never ends.

@Hurst If you don't mind me asking which plan do you have for Verizon?

It had a catchy name when we first got,.. I do not remember it now.

Basically unlimited everything with 4 lines and 40gb data for using my phone as a wifi hotspot.

I've had ATT and Sprint, both I had to walk to my mailbox to make a call and leave phone in a window sill to receive calls. Verizon works all over my house. Had dropped calls at several places around town, no dropped calls with Verizon.

On the road between the midwest and South Florida I have no problems with Verizon.

You sure pay for it though.

Not sure how many of you will understand what these numbers reflect.

To put it into perspective,.. most home DSL connections can barely do 2.5 mb/s download and about 70 kb/s upload. Thats 0.7 mb/s.

Most basic cable internet home connections are doing good to get 10 mb/s down and 2.5 mb/s up.

This is one of the reasons I love Verizon service. Everything else about them sucks. But their quality of service and their coverage area can not be beat.

With this type of speed,.. I download a full DVD movie in about under 10 mins. I can stream any video stream at its highest quality settings. This location actually has a pretty good ping for wireless. Most of the time,.. pings are in the 80 - 150 ms range. 53 ms ping is actually doable for online gaming.

All I do it tun on the hotspot on my phone. I set it up so only the MAC address from my laptop can connect. Then its just like being at home on a fast internet connection. I have service from coast to coast,.. border to border. Very few places where I can not get a decent signal.

what does all this cost ? playing video games, streaming this and that, downloading, uploading, sending files by email to name a few.
