Marten is a decent company, good equipment, decent trailers, decent miles. If you don't like being forced, don't go there. I told them I do NOT go to NYC or the surrounding areas under ANY circumstance, in orientation and when I called them to talk about driving for them. I guess they didn't take me seriously.

They tried to force me to take a load to NYC, said "you have to your a company driver" I told them they can kiss my ###, I wasn't doing it, I told them in Orientation and the recruiters...don't like it? To bad, and proceeded to the nearest terminal, and turned my keys in.

My dispatcher and the OPS manager came out and said "what happened, why are you quitting" I said "I told you I don't do NYC or the surrounding areas under ANY circumstance, and you tried to tell me I HAD to cause I'm a company driver, well I don't HAVE TO do ANYTHING, here's your keys, see ya" and put my stuff in my friends car, and went home.

 

It's a good company to get your experience. I am dedicated, so I know when, where, or what I'll be doing, extremely easy. On average gross about 1200 a week. I'll be sticking around here for couple years or more

 

South East Carriers doesn't do Northeast.
Danny Herman Trucking doesn't do Northeast.
Both do lots of west coast runs though.

 

Not alot of coast to coast anymore.
