They start off around $24.

That's not louisiana huh I'm sure different areas have different pay
-
You are talking about Fed Ex Freight, right? And not R&L? I couldn't distinguish your post, I assumed it was Fed Ex since you posted this question on this Fed Ex thread.
-
Yes I'm sorry. The question is directed to FedEx . I'm sappose to start at R+L the 14th. Just kinda hoping I make more then this Walmart account I'm on

I'm not sure what the pay rate would be in Louisiana, but over in Jersey, Fed Ex Freight city drivers start off around $24. I would imagine cost of living would determine nationwide payrate. I know a couple Fed Ex guys working in Delanco, Nj, and it's your typical LTL job. One of them moved from city to road driver/linehaul and is making a hell of a lot more than he did as a P&D driver. I think payrate also depends on if it's union or non union as well. Delanco, Nj is non union, where as Newark, Nj is union. So I would imagine the union drivers get paid a lot more than nonunion.

That will depend on where you live. Pay rates do vary around the country. The bigger terminals in or near the major metro areas have higher pay rates as a general rule of thumb.
In any event, I think you're moving up.
Now in R+L's case, their city drivers make more then the linehaul drivers. The way they are structured gives them P+D runs that can log more miles than it is to some other terminals and back. -
City drivers making more than line haul? Not disagreeing just that's a first I've heard of that at any company...Pintlehook Thanks this.
