I was going to say the same. However there are very efficient AC units. My window unit at home only pulls 800watts max. So it can be done but I would like a little bit more leeway in case I wanted to microwave something or have a refrigerator.

Downside, the window/wall units ain't designed for the rigors of the road. My 5000btu has only lasted 2 summers.

For those who want to install wall unit.My ex truck was equipped with one . Was working good 3 years till truck was sold. Shore power or generator. Inside unit was set on the plastic console attached to the roof and cabinets blowing toward bed. To protect compressor unit from vibration use vibro absorber. Usually seller will charge you some extra for this.http://www.ebay.com/itm/PIONEER-120...s-Mini-Split-Heat-Pump-10-Lines-/291596386846

I have a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia with the Battery powered ParkSmart system in it. Truck also has a shore power connection. Darn thing dies out within 4 hours, will the ParkSmart run if I plug into shore power and my bigger question is if I run a generator and run a cord from the genny to the shore power connection, will the ParkSmart a/c run?

That's the idea. Sounds like your APU batteries are week. They are separate from your truck batteries. Don't cheap out on them when you replace them. The generator should keep it working though even without good batteries.

I thought about doing this generator with window unit for a while, but I can't figure out how to mount/secure the AC unit on the passenger window. Are any of you willing to share some pictures of how you did it
