After 5 years with Swift I can count on one hand how many times I have been through a level 1 inspection.
I don't even have to point one finger up, because it has NEVER happened!
I do know that it happens, and that I've probably been lucky.
But I am not targeted just because I drive a Swift truck.
Well, I was once. Swift's score had fallen below and I was pulled in.
Not a level 1, and I passed through with no problems.
Swift has more problems due to driver faults, than equipment.
Why is that?
It is because Swift does its best to maintain the equipment.
The downfall is more with the drivers, not the company.
It is drivers that don't report problems with the equipment.
They drop trailers that have defects without reporting it, and they run the truck when there are problems that need to be fixed.
Good Things About Swift??

Sorry, that information is not available to the public any more. You see, Swift and their cohorts, are ashamed with the drivers and equipment they put on the public roads. As such, the lobbied the government to have this data removed from public view.

I had no issues with Swift once i swapped my first driver manager. Without someone who will actually work with you instead of work you it is a lot easier. Make sure you get to know a planner or two when you get the chance and get their direct numbers. If you have to get back into the swing of things then your choices are limited, might as well go with the company with all the freight, you can get lots of miles if you are willing to squeeze in your 10 hours on an inconsistent basis and have no regular sleep schedule. I spent a year there and when i left the industry and then returned i even considered going back. Ultimately I didn't but i wasn't entirely opposed to the idea either.

Believing you actually have any real knowledge about trucking in general and any one company in particular because you've read this forum ... is like saying you know what it's like to be a WW2 POW because you've watched "Hogan's Heros" ...
